Hyundai Unveils New Strategy for the Indian Automotive Market
Georgia Wray Norsten — May 22, 2025The Indian automotive market is central to Hyundai Motor India Ltd.’s (HMIL) latest strategy, which includes the launch of a hybrid SUV and a broader portfolio of eco-friendly powertrains. Announced as part of Hyundai’s long-term growth plan, the company will roll out 26 new products by FY2030, including six EVs and a range of hybrids, designed to meet rising demand for sustainable mobility.
Hyundai is also boosting its manufacturing footprint with a new facility in Pune, enabling faster delivery and greater responsiveness to the evolving needs of Indian consumers. This move complements earlier successes like the CRETA Electric and reflects the brand’s broader vision of environmentally conscious innovation. Amid ongoing macroeconomic challenges, Hyundai aims to balance domestic growth with a projected 7–8% increase in exports, leveraging its strong brand equity in global emerging markets.
