A consortium of organizations known as the Carbon to Value Initiative — which includes the Urban Future Lab at NYU Tandon, Greentown Labs, and Fraunhofer USA — has announced the commencement of the application period for the fifth iteration of its accelerator program. The Carbon to Value program is focused on carbon utilization technologies. It is designed to support early to mid-stage startups developing innovations that capture, convert, or sequester carbon dioxide, with a particular emphasis on solutions that have progressed beyond basic laboratory research. Selected participants will receive a financial stipend, tailored educational and business development resources, and facilitated introductions to a specially formed leadership council composed of representatives from major corporations, non-profit entities, and government bodies. The Carbon to Value Initiative aims to address the significant challenge of scaling these technologies to a level where they can have a meaningful impact on global emissions reduction targets.
