Data-Driven Vehicle Repair Partnerships

Solera and AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes have entered a strategic partnership to integrate AkzoNobel’s product and process data—drawn from tools such as Carbon Pulse and the CO₂eRepairCalculator—into Solera’s Sustainable Estimatics platform. This collaboration enables bodyshops and insurers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to calculate and manage the carbon footprint of individual vehicle refinish repairs by accounting for variables including specific paint systems, spray-booth cycle times, drying temperatures, and VOC emissions.

The initiative aligns with AkzoNobel’s objective to halve carbon emissions across its value chain by 2030 and builds on the company’s digital sustainability suite by embedding emissions transparency directly into daily repair workflows. According to Solera’s leadership, the combined solution delivers actionable, process-specific CO₂ data that supports more sustainable repair choices without sacrificing operational efficiency, thereby advancing both environmental and business performance in the collision-repair sector.
