Canadian footwear manufacturer Baffin and the Bruce Trail Conservancy recently announced the successful conclusion of a multi-year conservation initiative, which achieved its objective of constructing and installing 100 co-branded boot brush stations along the entirety of the 900-kilometer Bruce Trail.

The collaborative project directly addresses a critical environmental threat to the Niagara Escarpment's biodiversity —  the spread of invasive plant species and pathogens inadvertently transported on the footwear of hikers. The stations, built from durable cedar and featuring an informational placard, are designed to encourage a simple pre- and post-hike cleaning ritual that has been demonstrated to significantly mitigate this transfer. The final assembly of 40 units was completed by a collaborative group of Baffin employees, community volunteers, and conservancy representatives at the company's Ontario headquarters.
