Shell Unveils the CANSOLV CO2 Capture System at NZT Power
Kanesa D — January 2, 2025
Shell Catalysts & Technologies is officially launching its CANSOLV CO2 Capture System at the Net Zero Tesside Power (NZT Power) project, helping the company capture two million tonnes of CO2 annually in hopes of reducing environmental impact. With this new project, the company hopes to capture CO2 and store it below the North Sea through a partnership with the Northern Endurance. Shell's CO2 capture system is also being used at SaskPower’s Boundary Dam Power Station in Canada, demonstrating its reliability.
“Being selected as the carbon capture technology provider for Net Zero Teesside Power reflects the proven capabilities of Shell’s CANSOLV CO2 technology in delivering substantial, reliable emissions reductions at scale,” said Nick Flinn, Director of Shell Catalysts & Technologies.
