Eco-Focused Cartridge-Free Printers

Epson recently expanded its EcoTank cartridge-free printer lineup with the new ET-3950 and ET-4950 models alongside the existing ET-2980. These products continue the brand’s focus on cost-efficient, low-maintenance printing by utilizing refillable ink tanks rather than disposable cartridges — a design that has contributed to the EcoTank series becoming one of the best-selling printer lines worldwide.

Epson's seventh generation of the EcoTank cartridge-free printers emphasizes convenience and sustainability, with each model including enough ink to potentially last up to three years under typical use. The integrated PrecisionCore Heat-Free technology enhances durability by eliminating heat-based components that often degrade over time, while the permanent printhead design further extends the printer’s lifespan. Other key features include fast print speeds — 18 pages per minute for black and nine for color, automatic duplex printing and scanning, and a color touchscreen on the ET-4950.
