UVIC Launched the 'Centre for Regenerative FUtures'
Colin Smith — October 30, 2025The Centre for Regenerative Futures (CRF) at the Gustavson School of Business reframes business education and research around regenerative sustainability, emphasizing restoration, reciprocity, and relationship with place and Indigenous knowledges. The centre functions as a living laboratory that convenes scholars, students, Indigenous knowledge holders, and practitioners to co‑create regenerative approaches, with priorities that include championing research, transforming business education, facilitating cross‑sector knowledge exchange, and designing interventions to enable regenerative practices.
CRF’s stated vision positions business as a catalyst for regeneration and aims to prepare purpose‑driven leaders capable of guiding systemic change. Its activities encompass teaching, applied research, public engagement, and collaboration with policy makers and industry to support transitions toward practices that strengthen communities and revitalize ecosystems.
