Hyundai Motor Group has extended its collaborative research initiative with the Rhode Island School of Design for a sixth consecutive year. This ongoing program — which is termed the Regeneration Studio — centers on the application of biodesign and biomimicry principles to conceptualize future transportation systems.

The collaboration between Hyundai Motor Group and the Rhode Island School of Design involves students and faculty from the university working alongside designers from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis. The program's structure includes specialized academic courses and intensive workshops held throughout the academic year. The focus of the 2025-26 cycle is 'Tangible Futures.'

Through this program, the collaborators successfully explore how insights from natural systems and organisms can inform the development of new materials, manufacturing techniques, and user experiences that align with a more ecologically mindful and circular economy.
