Automaker-Launched Resource Circularity Centers

Honda has established a new Resource Circularity Center in Ohio. The facility is dedicated to the recovery and repurposing of a wide range of assets that are used in the company's manufacturing and corporate operations. A noteworthy achievement is that this center moves beyond the recycling of production scrap to include tools, office furnishings, and obsolete vehicle components.

The Honda Resource Circularity Center operates on circular economy principles. It first prioritizes the internal redeployment of functional equipment to other company locations, followed by external sales or donation. Material recycling serves as a final step for items that cannot be reused.

Honda's initiative is a component of a broader corporate strategy to develop a closed-loop supply chain that will minimize waste sent to landfills and reduce the consumption of new raw materials.
