Regenerative Cotton Standards

Better Cotton Has Announced Efforts Towards Regeneration

Better Cotton, the world’s largest cotton sustainability initiative, has formally announced its commitment to advancing regenerative agricultural practices within its global standard. The announcement was made at its 2025 Annual Conference, held on 18–19 June in İzmir, Türkiye, under the theme 'It Starts with Farmers.'

More than "370 people from over 20 countries attended the event, including farmers, brands, NGOs, and government representatives." Topics discussed included gender equality, climate funding, supply chain transparency, and working together across industries.

In his speech, CEO McClay emphasized the need for Better Cotton to play a bigger role in global conversations about agriculture and sustainability. He highlighted how new laws often overlook the realities faced by cotton farmers and called for stronger representation. Moreover, the shift toward regeneration focuses on soil health, biodiversity, and farmer well-being, aiming to build a more sustainable cotton future.
