The Denim Project by Junghyun Kim Turns Waste into Wares
Michael Hemsworth — January 15, 2025References: yankodesign & instagram
The Denim Project has been designed by Junghyun Kim as a series of decorative items for the home that helps to transform waste materials into something new. The project features denim that has been discarded and transformed into a series of decorative plates by mixing it with additional materials like plaster, resin and wood glue. Each of the plate designs thus have a completely unique profile that sees no two quite alike thanks to their recycled composition and are perfect for elevating the aesthetic of any kitchen or dining room.
The plates within the Denim Project have a white and blue color scheme that will have them look like antique Delftware, and thus will be favored amongst modern collectors alike.
