Recycled Artful Design Objects

WASTED 001 is a collection by Max Lamb for Bali’s Desa Potato Head, turning discarded resort materials into a thoughtfully crafted homeware collection that uses HDPE plastics, broken glass, hotel linens, cooking oil, oyster shells, Styrofoam, and bamboo, all salvaged and reimagined into bold, sculptural forms. Each object is designed to highlight the textures and colors of its original material, creating a visual language that celebrates rather than conceals its past life. Stools, trays, candle holders, and textile accessories show how waste can become both functional and artistic.

The production process is rooted in collaboration with local Balinese artisans, ensuring traditional skills and contemporary design merge seamlessly. Each piece is handmade on-site, making it both sustainable and culturally grounded. WASTED 001 offers a tangible example of circular design, proving that discarded resources can be reworked into beautiful, purposeful pieces for everyday living.
