HVAC Industry-Focused Sustainability Roadmaps

At the 2026 AHR Expo, Rheem has publicly disclosed a comprehensive set of environmental objectives that it aims to complete by the year 2035. Concurrently, the company also presented over a dozen recently developed or upgraded heating, cooling, and water heating products during the event.

Rheem's outlined sustainability framework includes quantified targets for diminishing greenhouse gas emissions associated with its products' entire lifecycle. The goal is to reduce "reduce greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 30%." Another of Rheem's environmental objectives is to improve the recyclability and composition of its packaging. The mark here is to ensure that "90% of packaging is reusable, recyclable, or compostable, or has 50% recycled content." The company has also pledged to maintain its zero-waste-to-landfill status, to reduce global waste intensity, and to conduct extensive training for industry professionals.
