Samsung Electronics’ Hylex ™ Hybrid Flexible Single heat pump system was named one of Green Builder Media’s Sustainable Products of the Year for 2025, highlighting its leadership in energy-efficient HVAC technology. Hylex utilizes inverter-driven, transfer-based heating and cooling technology in a compact, modular design that reduces material use and simplifies space-saving installations. The system’s universal compatibility allows connection to any indoor coil with a thermal expansion valve, enabling reuse of existing refrigerant piping and control wiring to cut waste and retrofit costs. Real-time monitoring of energy consumption and AI-based optimization is available through integration with Samsung’s SmartThings Energy platform, and the new model supports R-454B refrigerant for lower global warming potential.

The Hylex launch coincides with the formation of Samsung Lennox HVAC North America, a joint venture combining Samsung’s ductless HVAC innovation and connected-home technologies with Lennox’s extensive dealer network in the U.S. and Canada. This partnership aims to broaden access to smart, efficient climate solutions for residential and light commercial markets. Globally, Samsung operates in 48 countries, and the introduction of Hylex reinforces the company’s commitment to scalable, sustainable HVAC offerings that meet both new-build and retrofit requirements.
