Recycled Water Beers

Epic Cleantec Created Commercial Beer from Purified Shower and Laundry Water

Water is one of the essential components of beer, and Epic Cleantec created the world's first commercial beer from recycled building water to prove what's possible with creative water reuse. Shower Hour IPA and Laundry Club Kölsch are two distinct beer styles made with highly purified recycled water from showers and laundry, and they're now available to consumers across the United States.

These beers were created in partnership with Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company, using water from buildings where Epic Cleantec operates advanced onsite reuse systems. Additionally, the beer is brewed with drought-resistant, soil-enriching ingredients, like fonio, kveik yeast and Azacca hops.

“As water and infrastructure challenges grow worldwide, buildings continue to discard perfectly good water with tremendous potential for reuse," said Aaron Tartakovsky, co-founder and CEO of Epic Cleantec. "By creating Shower Hour IPA and Laundry Club Kölsch, we’re giving people a fun and approachable way to see recycled water in a new light."
