Waste-Converting Fuel Models

Honeywell has introduced a new Biocrude Upgrading system that converts agricultural and forestry byproducts into ready-to-use renewable fuels, offering a sustainable alternative to marine fuel, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and gasoline. The technology can produce biofuels without requiring changes to existing engines, making adoption easier for the shipping and aviation industries, which are traditionally tied to high-carbon infrastructure. Honeywell is also simplifying deployment and reducing risk with prefabricated modular plants, aiming to transform waste into an abundant, low-carbon energy source.

“Honeywell continues to drive innovation in the areas that our customers need most,” Ken West, president of Honeywell Energy and Sustainability Solutions, was quoted by Interesting Engineering. “[...] Our Biocrude Upgrading processing technology can be delivered in modular form, offering savings from the point of installation through to refining and use.”
