Ready-To-Use Sustainable Aviation Fuels

Montana Renewables, in partnership with Calumet Montana Refining, has commissioned new on-site facilities to produce and distribute a ready-to-use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) called MaxSAF™ Blended. This product is a nominal 50/50 blend of renewable fuel and conventional fossil-based jet fuel that meets international ASTM certification standards. As such, Montana Renewables' offering is positioned as a 'drop-in' replacement that requires no modifications to existing aircraft or fueling infrastructure.

Initial distribution of MaxSAF™ Blended will be handled through the AEG Fuels network to aviation hubs in Montana, Washington, and Oregon. The development is significant as it expands market access for SAF beyond major airport hubs and allows for local and regional service. The availability of a certified, lower-carbon fuel alternative provides a tangible pathway for the aviation industry to reduce its carbon footprint.
