Conference-Focused Sustainability Tools

The Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance — or SABA, for short — has developed a specialized online tool to allow individuals attending the COP30 climate conference to mitigate the environmental impact of their necessary air travel.

The platform enables attendees to calculate the carbon dioxide emissions associated with their flight itinerary — whether on a commercial or private aircraft — using established calculation models. Subsequently, users can financially support a quantity of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) that corresponds to their calculated emissions through the purchase of certificates. These certificates are part of a book-and-claim system, meaning the financial support is directed towards vetted SAF production, even though the physical fuel may not be used on the attendee's specific flight.
