Microban International Launches Synthetic-Free Shields

Microban International, known for its antimicrobial and odor-control technologies, has launched 'H₂O Shield,' a new line of water-resistant textile finishes that are completely free from PFAS and PFOS—harmful synthetic chemicals commonly used in water-repellent coatings.
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), including PFOS, are "long-lasting in the environment and have been linked to health and safety concerns." With growing regulations and increased consumer demand for safer, more sustainable products, brands are urgently looking for alternatives. As such, H₂O Shield offers "a high-performance, eco-friendly solution that helps textile manufacturers meet these demands without sacrificing water resistance; it’s designed for use in clothing, outdoor gear, and other fabric-based products."
