Sanitation Foundation Launches 'Don't Do New York City Dirty' Campaign

The New York City Sanitation Foundation has launched the 'Don't Do New York City Dirty' campaign to inspire New Yorkers to take pride in keeping their city clean. While "83% of residents say they’re proud of NYC, research shows that nearly 40% admit to littering." To address this gap, the campaign encourages everyone to help fight litter.

In support of the initiative, Mayor Eric Adams stated that it’s time to end the idea that littering is acceptable. Similarly, Acting Sanitation Commissioner Javier Lojan noted that "although 10,000 sanitation workers clean up 24 million pounds of trash each day, residents must also do their part."

To spread the message, the campaign—created by Arnold NY—is appearing citywide on buses, trash trucks, movie theaters, TV, radio, and social media. Ultimately, the goal is to make Don’t Do New York City Dirty a lasting reminder to keep NYC clean.
