Eco-Friendly Holi Colors

Saarthi is Turning Floral Waste Into Chemical-Free Colors

Saarthi, a social welfare organization, is turning temple flower waste into eco-friendly opportunities for both the environment and local communities. The group recycles used flowers into chemical-free, organic colors for Holi, reducing river pollution while creating jobs for women and people with disabilities.

Launched at Saarthi’s Kadma office, the initiative has already begun supplying these sustainable colors to temples across the city. The production process, which has been ongoing for the past two weeks, transforms collected floral waste into vibrant colors just in time for the festival.

For businesses, Saarthi’s model highlights how waste streams can be converted into sustainable products that deliver both social impact and environmental benefits, offering a blueprint for community-centered circular initiatives.

Special guests like Chandrabhan Singh, Dr G.R. Kant, and Radha Sharan commented "that the organic colours are being supplied to various temples and communities across the city."
