Recycled Paper Can Designs

Sustainable packaging brand Sonoco is launching a new beverage can with a paper bottom, utilizing 100% recycled fiber and up to 90% is sourced from post-consumer materials. The new packaging reflects Sonoco’s commitment to advancing circular solutions while considering performance and environmental impact. Notably, European brands have been using the solution for products like powdered beverages, snacks, and pet food.

Designed with recyclability at its core, the can has successfully met re-pulpability and recyclability standards through testing at Western Michigan University. It has also earned prequalification for the How2Recycle “Check Locally” label, helping consumers navigate sustainable disposal with greater ease. Available in multiple sizes, this new paper can offers brands a practical, planet-friendly alternative without compromising packaging integrity.
