Reimagined Recycled Plastic Turntables

Ron Arad's Concrete Stereo was Recreated by Stu Cole

Designer Stu Cole has officially remade the Ron Arad Concrete Stereo, an iconic design piece embodying the brutalist aesthetic and marrying it with modern audio techology. Arad, known for his innovative works that challenge conventions of industrial design, originally crafted the Concrete Stereo in 1984.

Designer Stu Cole reimagines Arad’s vision for today, keeping the spirit of the original while adding modern refinement. The RA84 includes both the turntable and matching speakers, echoing Arad’s original pairing but with a sleeker, more polished finish. Cole’s version opts for smoother, more uniform surfaces—except for a deliberately chipped corner that showcases a unique stone-like texture beneath.

The entire unit is crafted from recycled consumer plastics, showcasing how art can be crafted with minimal environmental impact. The speakers come in concrete grey or a darker black.
