The newly launched India initiative builds on the global Denim Deal movement, and the creation of the sustainable denim hub marks a pivotal step toward scaling textile recycling and circularity in one of the world’s largest denim-producing nations. A joint effort between Denim Deal, the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability Council (GATS), and Enviu Textiles, the hub will bring together brands, manufacturers, startups, recyclers, and policymakers to foster collaboration and shared infrastructure for closed-loop denim production.

By promoting pre- and post-consumer waste recycling, the Sustainable Denim Hub is designed to accelerate the transition to fiber-to-fiber recycled cotton and support India’s potential to lead in sustainable fashion. With Denim Deal’s mission to produce one billion pairs of jeans containing at least 20% post-consumer recycled cotton by 2030, this hub represents a significant milestone in uniting global and local stakeholders toward circular innovation.
