Laura McQuarrie — January 28, 2026To Good to Go Japan is rolling out in select areas of Tokyo—including Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Meguro—to increase access to surplus food and reduce food waste, with benefits for businesses and consumers alike.
The arrival of the world's largest marketplace for surplus food in Japan marks Too Good To Go's 21st country and first in Asia. Unique to the Japanese launch, To Good to Go introduced a new Station Search Function to help users find surplus food near train stations, accommodating the local lifestyle. "Japan represents an incredibly important step in our global journey," said Mette Lykke, CEO of Too Good To Go. "With its strong culture of quality, care, and respect for food, we see a natural alignment with our mission to reduce food waste. Food waste is one of the biggest climate challenges of our time, and also one of the most solvable."
