Decarbonization-Focused Construction Projects

Urban Mining Industries Utilizes Pozzotive®

Urban Mining Industries has successfully implemented its proprietary material — known as Pozzotive® — in the construction of a major commercial skyscraper. This venture, which was a collaborative effort between the building owner, architects, engineers, and concrete suppliers, demonstrates a practical application for reducing the carbon footprint of large-scale building projects.

Pozzotive® is a finely processed pozzolan derived from post-consumer glass. The material was used as a direct substitute for a significant portion of the cement required in the concrete mixes for the building's structural elements. This substitution directly lowered the embodied carbon of the concrete, as traditional cement production is an energy-intensive process responsible for substantial greenhouse gas emissions.

Urban Mining Industries proudly highlighted its approach as a model of circular economy principles, as Pozzotive® transforms a waste product that often challenges municipal recycling systems into a high-value construction input.
