Sustainable Music Festival Cleanups

Waterbomb Festival and TRU Will Repurpose Discarded Water Guns
Kanesa D — July 10, 2025The Waterbomb Festival, one of South Korea’s most celebrated music events known for blending high-energy performances with waterpark-style fun, is partnering with TRU, a Gyeonggi-based nonprofit dedicated to environmental sustainability. On the Monday following the event, approximately 1,500 colorful water guns were delivered to TRU, demonstrating the event's proactive step toward waste reduction and responsible disposal.
Rather than allowing the plastic toys to end up in landfills, TRU will give them a second life. The organization refurbishes discarded toys and donates them to children or repurposes them for environmental education programs. In some cases, unusable plastic components are recycled into durable plastic boards used for educational or community projects.
This collaboration reflects a growing awareness among event organizers of their environmental footprint and the importance of integrating sustainability into large-scale entertainment experiences.
