Bolon, the climate-neutral Swedish woven design company, unveiled a special installation during Milan Design Week that transformed its sustainable woven flooring into immersive floor-to-ceiling wall-mounted panels and floor-level plinths. Dubbed RIQUADRO, this creative project was executed in collaboration with Italian designer Martino Gamper.

Bolon's sustainable woven flooring was cut, layered, and recombined to treat the loom as a drawing tool. Some of the floor-level plinths also functioned as seating. The installation challenges the conventional assumption that flooring is merely a utilitarian background surface that should be neutral and unobtrusive, instead presenting woven flooring as a dynamic, artistic material that can actively shape how people experience and move through a space.

The RIQUADRO installation was hosted at Bolon Studio as part of Capsule Plaza and ran through April 26th, 2026. The brand notes that its innovative, eco-friendly flooring material contains 68% waste material and carries zero climate impact per square meter. Consumers
