Regenerative Agriculture-Focused Partnerships

Root Shoot Spirits Joins Forces with Zero Foodprint
Kalin Ned — July 11, 2025Root Shoot Spirits has entered a strategic partnership with environmental nonprofit Zero Foodprint. As part of this venture, the company will be committing 1% of all sales to support regenerative agriculture initiatives through the organization's grant program.
The collaboration with Zero Foodprint reinforces the Colorado-based distillery's existing sustainability practices, which include an exceptionally localized production chain where grains travel just 30 miles from field to bottling facility. The farm-to-bottle producer, whose whiskey recently earned American Single Malt Whiskey of the Year honors, will additionally participate in Zero Foodprint's Dirty Drinks campaign with supplemental donations from late August sales. The Olander family farm, which supplies grains for Root Shoot's operations, has previously received two Zero Foodprint grants supporting soil health improvements, including compost application and reduced tillage practices.
Since 2020, Zero Foodprint's agricultural grants have demonstrated measurable climate impact, with funded projects equivalent to eliminating over 22.5 million gallons of gasoline consumption through carbon sequestration.
