Blended Banana Beverages

Starbucks Japan's new Banana Affogato Frappuccino is coming soon to menus to introduce guests to an indulgent treat that also fights food waste with the use of perfectly edible yet slightly bruised, or cosmetically imperfect fruits. Although this blended beverage gives purpose to bananas that might have otherwise gone to waste, their perceived flaws have no impact on the taste or the quality of the finished product.

Thanks to the use of "mottainai bananas," this blended iced coffee beverage is naturally rich and sweet, pairing pieces of banana with milky cream mixed with banana powder, and espresso sauce (made by combining an espresso shot and Starbucks Classic Syrup.) Altogether, the experience is said to be fruity-sweet in taste and caramel-like in aroma.
