Brand-Backed Conservation Initatives

Brands for Public Lands Was Co-Founded by Patagonia

Launched in April of 2025, Brands for Public Lands is a coalition supported by more than 100 outdoor companies, and was co-founded by Patagonia and The Conservation Alliance, who spearheaded the project. Born from mounting concerns over efforts to roll back environmental protections, the coalition unites the outdoor industry to defend the public lands that are foundational to people, purpose, and prosperity.

Representing 62,000+ employees across 28 states and generating over $19.9 billion in annual revenue, the coalition is committed to safeguarding public lands from ongoing threats, including defunding, development, and resource extraction. These spaces are essential to economies, ecosystems, climate resilience, cultural heritage, and community well-being.

Every member brand pledges meaningful action, from backing legal challenges and influencing policymakers to educating customers and mobilizing advocates. Together with tribal partners, NGOs, grassroots groups, and engaged consumers, Brands for Public Lands aims to build a stronger, more unified voice to protect public lands.
