Pepsico, Unilever & Others Run STEP Up for Agriculture
Kalin Ned — September 25, 2025A coalition of major corporations, including PepsiCo and Unilever, has established a collaborative initiative named STEP up for Agriculture. This venture is designed to accelerate the adoption of regenerative farming methods by strengthening local agricultural support networks.
The STEP up for Agriculture program operates on the principle that farmers are more likely to implement sustainable practices when they receive guidance from trusted, region-specific organizations rather than from distant corporate entities. To this end, the initiative will provide funding, strategic planning assistance, and training resources to these grassroots groups, enabling them to offer more robust mentorship and technical support to individual farms.
The overarching objective of the STEP up for Agriculture program is to build more resilient supply chains by improving soil health, reducing agricultural emissions, and enhancing biodiversity. Initial efforts are focused on North America and a pilot program is launching in Europe.
