Wolters Kluwer Launched the 'CBAM Module' for Easy ESG Compliance
Colin Smith — July 17, 2025Wolters Kluwer has expanded its CCH Tagetik ESG & Sustainability platform with a dedicated CBAM module to streamline compliance with the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. The module automates the identification of CBAM-relevant goods and associated suppliers through AI-powered detection and performs emissions calculations aligned with official CBAM guidelines. Users can generate submission-ready reports using built-in quality checks and EU CBAM templates, while native integration with CCH Tagetik Carbon Management ensures seamless sharing of carbon emission data across the organisation.
The CBAM module enables importers of carbon-intensive goods to manage supplier emissions early in the supply chain and plan for import-related carbon costs as carbon allowance prices evolve. By automating emissions reporting, the solution supports accurate, auditable data collection and enhances regulatory readiness ahead of the mechanism’s 2026 enforcement. These capabilities help finance and sustainability teams anticipate rising carbon prices and integrate compliance costs into broader financial planning and risk management processes.
