Sustainable Lightweight Champagne Bottles

Champagne Telmont Debuts a Lighter-Weight Magnum Bottle

Champagne Telmont has achieved a significant technical advancement in sustainable packaging within the champagne industry by developing and implementing a new, lighter-weight magnum bottle. This innovation reduces the bottle's mass from the traditional 1,730 grams to 1,600 grams. This change will directly decrease the carbon emissions associated with the manufacturing and transportation of the product.

Champagne Telmont asserts that this redesigned container maintains the necessary structural integrity to withstand internal pressure and handling, having undergone extensive testing. Notably, the company is also making this design available to other producers within the Champagne appellation. As such, the sustainably-oriented, lighter-weight magnum bottle is positioned as an open-source contribution to reducing the sector's overall environmental impact.

This development is part of the Maison's broader, publicly stated sustainability program, which includes goals for fully organic viticulture and achieving net-zero emissions.
