Sustainable Tourist Incentives

Copenhagen Debuts a Reward Program for Eco-Friendly Tourism

This summer, Copenhagen is rolling out CopenPay, a city-wide initiative rewarding environmentally conscious tourists with perks like free bike rentals, yoga classes, vegetarian meals, and discounts at top attractions. Travelers who arrive by train and stay at least four days qualify for complimentary bike rentals, while those who engage in green actions—like cycling or picking up litter—can access benefits at 90 participating locations, including the National Museum and CopenHill.

Launched by the city’s tourism board, Wonderful Copenhagen, CopenPay aims to promote sustainable travel habits and raise awareness about reducing the environmental impact of tourism, particularly in transport. Running from June 17 through late August, the initiative will be promoted via billboards and social media as the city positions itself as a leader in climate-conscious tourism.
