Direct Air Capture Facilities

Deep Sky will be testing operations for the first direct air capture facility in North America. The project is named Deep Sky Alpha, and its facility is entirely powered by renewable energy. It will function as a testing and optimization platform to accelerate the development of this emerging industry. Direct air capture is a process by which carbon dioxide is captured directly from the ambient air and subsequently stored in a geological formation. Deep Sky Alpha integrates several distinct technological systems for direct air capture on a single site. A key operational feature for Deep Sky's facility is its use of a local saline aquifer for the permanent sequestration of the captured gas. The Deep Sky Alpha project was completed within a twelve-month timeframe and is positioned as a critical step toward commercializing large-scale carbon removal
