Arburg to Produce the donut-ella Cable Organizer from Recycled Plastic
Kanesa D — January 21, 2026A student-designed cable organizer called donut-ella, made from recycled plastic, is set to enter industrial production at Arburg, highlighting the company’s focus on sustainable, manufacturable product design. The winning concept, donut-ella, was created by design students from IUAV University of Venice and selected from 38 entries in a competition aimed at linking academic design with real-world manufacturing requirements.
The donut-shaped cable winder consists of three interlocking injection-moulded parts, engineered for efficient mould filling, short cycle times, and reliable demoulding, while accommodating a range of cable sizes. The product will be manufactured live at Arburg Technology Days in Lossburg, Germany, from 11–13 March 2026.
Production will use polyamide 6 (PA6) supplied by CGT, chosen for its strength, durability, wear resistance, and suitability for recycled content in technical applications.
