Auto-Focused Energy Management Technologies
Marelli is Innovating for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
Kalin Ned — December 4, 2025Global automotive technology firm Marelli has introduced a new software-based system — dubbed Intelligent Energy Management technology — at the Berlin CTI Symposium 2025. The innovation is designed to optimize power usage within electrified vehicles, including both hybrid and fully electric models.
The Intelligent Energy Management technology is essentially a modular platfrom that integrates with existing vehicle control hardware and thermal components. It works to harmonize the management of three critical operational areas — thermal regulation, drivetrain efficiency, and electronic systems coordination.
The development of this innovation utilizes digital twin simulation technology and decoupled software algorithms intended to streamline the design process, reduce production expenses, and allow for tailored adaptations for different manufacturers. With this software, Marelli strives to increase the distance a vehicle can travel on a single charge, improve the speed and effectiveness of battery replenishment, prolong the operational life of key components like the battery, and maintain cabin comfort, all through intelligent redistribution and recovery of energy that would otherwise be wasted.
