Modular Bike Battery-Swapping Systems

ENYRING Partnered with Swobbee on New Battery Platform

ENYRING, a Yamaha-backed startup, and Swobbee have partnered to launch a swappable e-bike battery platform in Europe. The collaboration integrates Swobbee’s battery swap station infrastructure—including both the hardware and backend software—with ENYRING’s subscription-based model for e-bike battery provision. The platform is designed to allow riders to exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones at designated swap stations, thereby addressing common challenges such as range anxiety and upfront battery costs. This initiative is set to be debuting in key urban centers such as Berlin and Amsterdam, marking a strategic move to facilitate a seamless, on-demand battery supply system for e-bike users.

The new system supports sustainable e-mobility by promoting battery reuse and extending the overall lifecycle of battery assets. ENYRING’s model enables customers to purchase an e-bike and access a flexible battery subscription service, while Swobbee’s established network provides the technical and operational framework for battery exchanges. By leveraging this collaborative approach, the platform aims to enhance the convenience and scalability of urban e-bike mobility, contributing to a reduction in battery waste and supporting the broader transition to sustainable transportation solutions.
