Ergo Eco Solutions, a company based in Duncan, is finding an innovative way to turn leftover food waste into valuable materials for road construction. Instead of relying on traditional petroleum-based products, the company uses organic waste to help create roads that are safer, cleaner, and more environmentally friendly. This approach supports its larger mission of reducing the use of fossil fuels in public infrastructure.

The company recently announced that it completed a test project at the Malahat Nation’s industrial park in Mill Bay. During this pilot, Ergo Eco Solutions introduced what it describes as a one-of-a-kind road treatment made from vegetable oil-based ingredients.

According to the company, the solution does its job without harming the surrounding environment or damaging vehicles, offering a greener option for maintaining roads while reducing pollution and waste.
