Naturalistic Industrial Illuminators
The Erreur 404 Lamps are Made with Concrete and Oyster Shells
Michael Hemsworth — January 20, 2026The Erreur 404 lamps have been designed by the James Haywood Atelier as a series of illuminators that take an unexpectedly industrial yet naturalistic approach to lamp design. The lamps are characterized by their freestanding design that's made with a blend of concrete, crushed oyster shells and natural pigment to give them their sculptural profile. The lamps thus each have a sculptural design and variance between each one to give them their own distinct sense of character.
The Erreur 404 lamps are handmade in France and feature the plug and base 3D-printed with bronze and coconut filaments. The cables on the lamps are crafted with recycled cotton and are paired with a G9 bulb for a bright white illumination to offset their naturalistic profile.
