McDonald’s Joins Arla’s FarmAhead Partnership to Promote Biodiversity

McDonald’s is deepening its long-standing partnership with Arla Foods to promote sustainability on British dairy farms. The collaboration, which has been ongoing since 1987, now includes participation in Arla’s FarmAhead Customer Partnership program, with a fresh focus on nature and biodiversity.

At the heart of this new initiative is ReNature, a project working with around 60 organic dairy farms that supply Arla. The program aims to assess and enhance soil health, wildlife habitats, and overall biodiversity, helping farms operate more sustainably. Findings from ReNature will be shared across Arla’s milk pool, providing measurable benchmarks for sustainable farming practices and guiding future improvements across the industry.

"We’ve seen first-hand how focusing on soil health and biodiversity strengthens our herds and our businesses. Partnering with McDonald’s through our FarmAhead Programme and the ReNature project means we can measure what’s working and keep improving," said Farmer Will Tizzard, who supplies both Arla and McDonald’s.
