PepsiCo and Cargill Promote Regenerative Farming Practices
Kalin Ned — July 16, 2025PepsiCo and Cargill are focusing on promoting regenerative farming practices across 240,000 acres of Iowa farmland by 2030. The emphasis falls on the brands' shared corn supply chain.
The initiative, implemented by Practical Farmers of Iowa (PFI), will provide farmers with technical expertise, financial incentives, and customized guidance to transition toward sustainable agricultural methods. This collaboration aims to enhance soil health, reduce carbon emissions, and improve crop resilience while securing a more stable supply chain for PepsiCo’s products, which rely heavily on agricultural inputs. Farmers participating in the program will benefit from risk-mitigating incentives, agronomic support, and access to sustainability-focused markets, which may potentially increase their long-term productivity and profitability.
The organized push to promote regenerative farming practices serves as a model for scalable agricultural transformation, demonstrating how large corporations can work directly with local farmers to drive meaningful environmental and economic benefits.
