Henkel Unveils a Recyclable Cold Seal Coating for Product Barriers

Henkel has introduced Loctite Liofol CS 7106 RE, the company’s first cold seal coating designed specifically for barrier-coated paper. The solution supports compliance with packaging recyclability regulations, including the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), while enabling secure sealing without heat.
Suitable for snacks, ice cream, confectionery, and secondary packaging, Loctite Liofol CS 7106 RE provides a recyclable alternative to plastic-based structures, reflecting the growing trend toward paperization. The product is part of Henkel’s RE range, a portfolio of adhesives and coatings engineered to support recycling-compatible packaging and material reutilization.
