Recycled Sour Cream Cups

Ineos Styrolution Crafts Sour Cream Cups Using 30% Recycled Polystyrene

Germany-based retailer Ineos Styrolution is introducing sour cream cups made with 30 percent recycled polystyrene (PS), appealing to growing interest in sustainable packaging products. The packaging, developed with ALDI SÜD and Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller, aligns with the evolving packaging regulations from the European Union's Packaging and Packging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which seeks to minimize the amount of plastic waste going to landfills from corporate sources. The new sour cream cups are available at ALDI SÜD stores across Germany.

“Ineos Styrolution is turning the promise of recycled polystyrene into a practical reality,” says Rob Buntinx, the company’s president, EMEA. “We’re proving that circular solutions can meet both food safety standards and performance demands. We’re calling on the entire value chain to join us in making circularity the new normal.”
