The Loop Living Cocoon is a Casket Made from Mushrooms

Loop Biotech has launched a new product called the Loop Living Cocoon, drawing significant attention due to the fact that the unit is composed entirely of mushrooms. Designed to fit a majority of adults, the Living Cocoon is completely biodegradable and fully decomposes after 45 days while providing nutrients that nourish the earth. The casket only weighs 30 kg and has six jute handles for six people to lift, and also supports mechanical lifts and ropes for lowering into the plot.
The Loop Living Cocoon is priced at $3,995 and measures 216 × 75 × 45 cm (approx. 85 × 30 × 18 inches), with inner dimensions of 195 × 58 × 35 cm. For those who wish to be creamated, the Loop EarthRise urn also utilizes the same mycelium construction for only $395.
