Plastic Toilet Cleaner Cages

Lyondell Basell is working with Henken to introduce renewable plastic cages for toilet rim blocks, swapping the old models to ones that boast 30% mechanically recycled plastics and 70% LYB CirculenRenew monomers. CirculenRenew polymers are made from bio-based feedstocks, including waste residues from vegetable oil production. These polymers deliver the same performance as traditional fossil-based plastics but reduce CO₂ emissions during production.

“This builds on our long-standing collaboration in circularity, which has included several projects in mechanical recycling. Together with partners like Henkel, we are accelerating the availability of high-performance polymers — mechanically and chemically recycled and renewable-based — at scale through our comprehensive CirculenRenew portfolio," said Paula Sanabria Lique, senior director of marketing and commercial development.
