Olive Pulp Perfumery Ingredients
Olivante Upcycles Discard into a Fragrance Raw Material
Laura McQuarrie — October 24, 2025At the Beautyworld Middle East trade show, Eurofragance will unveil its fourth proprietary perfumery ingredient, Olivante, a fragrance raw material made by upcycling discarded olive pulp.
This innovative perfumery ingredient was made possible in collaboration with a partner in the olive oil industry that upcycles olive residues into various by-products after extracting the oil from olives. Because Olivante is made from olive residual matter, following oil extraction, it does not have an oily smell. "Olivante cannot be made from any random olive pulp," said Felipe San Juan, R&D Manager Ingredients and Fragrance Performance and Magdalena Rey, Technical Perfumer, both at Eurofragance, "Terroir and climate from a very specific region of Spain are key to this project."
Olivante appeals to perfumers who wish to amplify the richness of fruity notes, boost the intensity of certain white floral notes, and make gourmand notes even more decadent.
