Rototek, a Nottinghamshire-based rotational moulding specialist with over 30 years of industry experience and certified B Corp status, has become the UK’s first contract moulder to invest in Persico’s electric SMART Machine. The company manufactures more than 100,000 products annually, and this adoption replaces conventional gas-fired ovens with precise electric heating, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and polymer powder waste while maintaining tight tolerances across complex part geometries.

The Persico SMART Machine delivers heat directly to the mould tool through an electric system controlled in real time by advanced software, enabling uniform wall thickness and in-cycle quality monitoring that virtually eliminates defects. Independent heating and cooling cycles remove pre-heating requirements and support instant cycle initiation, while precision thermal management achieves material savings of up to 10% and accommodates recycled or bio-based polymers, furthering Rototek’s sustainable manufacturing objectives.
