Prism Worldwide, a Kirkland-based tire recycling organization, has officially announced that it is elevating its tire recycling technologies by advancing its odor reduction, sustainable thermoplastic vulcanizates, and high-content ethylene propylene diene monomer reuse. Prism's materials are all developed domestically, using non-capital-intensive processes that are cheaper and more eco-conscious.

“This is a turning point for end-of-life tire recycling and sustainable polymer development,” Prism CEO Bob Abramowitz says. “These are not incremental improvements. We’ve tackled odor, cost and performance, three of the biggest barriers to more widespread adoption of recycled materials and overcome them all with commercially viable solutions."

Prism advertises that customers can use the materials without changing the manufacturing process. The company's devulcanization process allows for it to be reused for EPDM at high content levels, while also elevating physical performance.
